Our work focuses on protecting the special things that make Nantucket feel like home.

Without action, Nantucket’s natural world could be reshaped beyond recognition. When you support the Linda Loring Nature Foundation, you help it thrive and allow conservation to take flight. Because healthy birds depend on healthy habitats, your gift protects both.

You can become part of something bigger. You help protect globally rare habitats, fuel bird research, and prepare the island for the challenges of a changing climate. And just like a fledgling taking its first flight, you help inspire the next generation of nature stewards, scientists, and advocates.

We have all found peace here. It’s up to us all to protect it.

We Protect, We Learn, We Prepare.

  • If You Build it, They Will Come

It all begins with an idea. Purple Martins coming to Nantucket didn’t happen by accident, it took years of planning and careful conservation and stewardship efforts. Just because we’ve had good success this year doesn’t mean we should stop, it means we should double down.

  • Research Where Your Input Matters

You have helped launch volunteer-driven research projects that allows us to collect invaluable data on migrating bird species and provide answers that will help prepare Nantucket for the future. When you support us, you become part of something bigger.

  • A Place to Grow and Learn

Our nest boxes throughout the property provide homes for Tree Swallows, a species in rapid decline across the US. Investing in environmental education and community experiences, prepares you and future generations to be thoughtful stewards of Nantucket’s natural spaces.

  • Banding Together for Our Songbirds

Whether it’s a student deepening their knowledge of migrant songbirds or a lifelong resident learning to appreciate what’s in their backyard, we’re creating opportunities for everyone to grow their connection to nature at Nantucket’s only public banding station.

When you invest in nature, you’re getting the multiplication of results.
