Nantucket Wildflowers! – Nature Walk with Dr. Sarah Bois

  • Linda Loring Nature Foundation 110 Eel Point Road Nantucket, MA, 02554 (map)

This is peak time for wildflower viewing! Now is your chance to observe the peak bloom time for our Nantucket wildflowers! Join Dr. Sarah Bois, Director of Research and Conservation, for a guided tour of the sandplain grasslands and heathlands of the LLNF property. It’s an aster show with a diversity of colors, shapes, sizes of our favorite wildflowers, many of which are state-listed as rare or threatened. It’s a perfect time to be out exploring these unique, globally rare habitats.

Walking over our gently rolling trails, we’ll explore sandplain grasslands and coastal heathland habitats, and enjoy views of Long Pond as we traverse a portion of the Linda Loring Nature Foundation’s Eel Point Road property. We’ll see what’s blooming, fruiting, flying, and crawling around the trails. Bring your nature questions- discussion is encouraged!

This program is free and open to all!
